My research on mentoring in organizations links to better understanding the drivers of effective outcomes for diversity and inclusion. My first co-edited book (together with Faye Crosby and Robyn Ely) was entitled, Mentoring Dilemmas: Developmental Relationships within Multicultural Organizations and was well received by both academic and corporate audiences. Some 15 years after my first book was published, I was approached to update this work and identify the next phase of mentoring research as a tool for diversity and inclusion. This led to the recent publication of Mentoring Diverse Leaders: Creating Change for People, Processes and Paradigms, co-edited with Stacy Blake-Beard was published and outlines a challenging agenda for work on mentoring by examining diversity within a global context.
