Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
As a primary area of research, my work looks as both barriers and opportunities for career and professional advancement for women and people of color in various types of organizations. Throughout my career, this work focused on issues such as sexual harassment, resistance to affirmative action and gender discrimination. The goal of this work was to examine the ways in which workplace obstacles such as discrimination, harassment and negative perceptions of affirmative action interfere with successful career outcomes for women and people of color. In addition, this work attempted to better understand the impact of these obstacles on important career outcomes such as job mobility and work-related attitudes.
